Bay Area First Step is a Peer-Run Organization. That means we are owned, governed, and managed by peers. This gives us independence and autonomy as a program. Best of all, our peers have lived experience to connect to the recovery community and provide peer support from a place of understanding.

Treatment –

Bay Area First Step offers peer-run outpatient substance use disorder treatment programs as well as DUII services. We utilize a holistic approach to treatment. Our treatment programs are client-centered and tailored to each individual.

Housing –

We recognize the importance of safe and stable housing in the process of recovery. BAFS believes revitalizing local structures into affordable and supportive housing, where recovery is possible, can transform lives and neighborhoods.

Recovery –

There are many different pathways of recovery. We will work with you to create a recovery plan that best suits your individual needs, stages of recovery, and lifestyle. Whether it be 12-Step programs, faith based programs, cultural healing, etc. We are here to support you through your unique journey of recovery with peer support, system navigation and safe supportive housing options.

Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) is a fellowship of men and women who have recovered from alcoholism and support each other in maintaining sobriety. A.A. meetings focus on sharing experience, strength, and hope to help those still struggling with alcohol. Membership is open to anyone who wants to recover, regardless of background, and does not require dues, fees, or conformity. A.A. is not affiliated with any political, religious, or outside organizations and remains neutral on external issues. Groups form independently with the sole purpose of supporting sobriety through mutual aid.

Curry Community Health Addiction Program provides suboxone prescription and buprenorphine maintenance. Some of the treatment approaches used by Curry Community Health Addiction Program include anger management, rational emotive behavioral therapy and relapse prevention treatment. Curry Community Health Addiction Program provides regular outpatient treatment, outpatient methadone/buprenorphine or naltrexone treatment and outpatient rehab. It also provides inpatient dual diagnosis treatment and residential substance use treatment. Other addiction treatment offered includes treatment for gambling disorder.

Inpatient Alcohol Rehab –

Residential Alcohol Rehab

Inpatient residential rehab programs typically last 30, 60, or 90 days and require patients to live on-site. These programs begin with detox to remove alcohol from the body, followed by a structured daily schedule of therapies designed to help individuals overcome serious alcohol addiction and maintain long-term sobriety.

Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP)

Partial hospitalization programs offer a structured, intensive level of care similar to inpatient treatment, but allow individuals to return home each night. Ideal for those with a stable home environment, these programs typically run daily for 6–8 hours and include continuous monitoring for relapse, withdrawal, and other health concerns.
