Dr. Gerber completed his family practice residency in Miami and began his private practice in Coos Bay in 1992. In 1995, together with Barbara Tyson, RN and a few other medical folks Waterfall was formed as a volunteer organization offering medical care one evening for a week and eventually grew into a Federally Qualified Health Center.Dr. Gerber was our first medical Director, a volunteer position.

Over the years, he has assisted Waterfall in various roles, always focused on excellent patient care. His most recent return in July of 2022 is to serve as the psychiatry program manager. In addition to his outpatient duties, Dr. Gerber is also the medical Director of Bay Area Hospital‘s Acute psychiatric unit. Dr. Gerber has been an essential part of bringing this Hub to life, bringing many behavioral health providers together on this platform working to increase access to quality services for all resident of Coos and Curry counties.
