Joe Blackinton is a Licensed Psychologist working at Coastal Center LLC. Joe was raised in San Diego. He earned his PhD in Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology – San Diego. He has enjoyed working with people of all ages with a range of presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, stress, abuse, and relational difficulties. His work history included directing a psychiatric residential treatment center for adolescents and counseling children and adults at a community mental health center in South Dakota. He founded a private practice in Yankton where he worked for over 25 years. Joe is a soft-spoken, caring individual who deeply respects his clients’ willingness to share their life stories. He believes that when people come together and share from their heart, they will walk away changed. Joe and his wife Sheryl love living in Oregon, driving their RZR on the beach, camping, and playing with their grandchildren and Penny (their mini golden doodle).
