Dr. Adam Clark, DSW, LCSW

Mental Health Therapist

Dr. Adam Clark is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with fifteen years of clinical experience across Oregon and Colorado, in hospital, hospice, crisis, and rural clinic settings. He holds a Doctorate of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver, and has taught graduate social work for a decade.

Dr. Clark founded Lumira Behavioral Health so that people on the south coast could find steady care close to home. Much of his work centers on life transitions, leaving school, a job gained or lost, a new baby, a marriage that ends, an illness that changes what a body can do, caring for aging parents, retirement, and the grief that travels with them. He also treats anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep difficulties, chronic stress, and self-worth.

His approach is collaborative and paced to the client. He draws on cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, internal family systems, and motivational interviewing, selecting what fits the situation rather than applying one fixed protocol. Sessions are unhurried, and the client’s goals lead the work.

He works with clients ages 14 and older, including teens, adults, and older adults, and welcomes LGBTQ+ clients. Appointments are available in person in Coos Bay and by telehealth throughout Oregon
