Hi! Thanks for being interested in learning more about me and how I approach therapy.
I was born in rural Southern Oregon to a working-class logging industry family and spent my teenage years in a remote area of Idaho. Since then, I’ve been throughout much of the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West. I like to say I find a new hobby wherever I go, whether it’s fly fishing, cycling, watercolor painting, or weaving!
I completed my Bachelors of Sociology at Southern Oregon University. Between then and my Masters in Counselor Education from the University of Montana, I worked as a behavioral health aide for children, provided case management services for physically and developmentally disabled individuals, and as a social services worker. Currently, I see adults for individual counseling at Coos Health and Wellness. I work primarily with underserved populations, whether they are rural, BIPOC, neurodivergent, working-class, LGBTQIA+, or hold multiple of these identities.
As a clinician, it is my goal for us to build an equitable therapeutic relationship where you can feel heard, seen, and safe. I use an Adlerian perspective in counseling, which means I focus on belongingness, your sense of community, and how early experiences affect your current life. It is my belief that loneliness and isolation are often tied to root causes of distress; by addressing these needs, we can reduce suffering.
