Matthew Laird, PMHNP-BC

Matthew Laird is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Matthew is a native rural Oregonian, where he developed values, a commitment to family, community, and an instinct to lend hands to those in need. 

After working as a CDL truck driver operating from coast to coast, his confidence, community minded spirit, and goal to become a Professional Nurse was realized in 2006, where he graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Matthew went onto gain experience in Critical Care, Burn, ER, Home Health and Behavioral Health, where he found his strength and passion in meeting people during their most vulnerable moments, ultimately pushing his research further to earn his PMHNP from Walden University in Minneapolis, MN in 2021 once completing all internship rotations in rural Arizona. 

Calmly now he helps people by teaching, advocating for patient care, and utilizing his reassuring, compassionate nature to quickly find solutions to complex situations.  He excels in nonjudgmental care, helping others in their greatest times of need in their life while finding solutions to live their best life regardless of race, gender, age, nationality, orientation, or ability to pay. 

He provides medication management, psychotherapy, and person-centered therapy.  He enjoys the outdoors, downhill skiing, spending time with family, rivers, forests, community projects, and exploring the beautiful West Coast. He is proud and honored to be part of Waterfall Community Health Center and serve the community he has always called home.
